Well with that headline making the news I can not help but wonder if I lost my iPhone in a bar, and it ended up being sold for whatever reason, if the police would go to the same lengths to recover my lost phone. Heck, I needed a police report for insurance one time for my stolen phone, in a bar, and they did not even want to fill out a report on my phone for me, and I even knew who stole it. They never lifted a finger to recover my lost phone.
I know it is a prototype, but come on. How much tax payer’s money has been spent recovering a phone? It is not like it is not going to be released in a few months and millions of people will have access to one. It not full of state secrets or anything, it is a freaking phone and a reporter ended up with it. So what! Next time Apple may more careful because no matter how much money you have, and how many lawyers you know, and how many connections in the police department you may have, it is pretty much a finders …. keepers … kind of world. Not matter how wrong that may be….
It sound to me like Apple should be more careful to whom they trust the prototype phones too. It also sound like the police and all the government agencies involved in this massive man hunt and threading talk about stolen property charges and the like should go out and catch some real crooks, robbers and downright law breakers. I am not saying what the unmentioned blogger did was right. I am just saying there is a lot more higher priority crime fighting to do than chase down Apple’s phone that was lost.
